1. Product description

Rayson PrimeBond E25 is a two-component, medium-viscosity, solvent-free epoxy bonding primer for dry or damp substrates — formulated to wet out and anchor to highly absorbent concrete, screed, asphalt and prepared metal.

PrimeBond E25 pairs a milky epoxy resin with an amber-brown hardener into a medium-viscosity, solvent-free primer built for absorbency: on thirsty concrete and screed it soaks in and seals the surface rather than sitting on top, giving the floor system above it the grip it depends on.

2. Recommended uses

  • Priming highly absorbent concrete and cementitious screeds
  • Priming new and existing concrete before Rayson floor systems
  • Priming sound existing epoxy flooring before recoating
  • Priming asphalt surfaces before compatible overlays
  • Priming mechanically prepared metal
  • Priming in enclosed or unventilated areas where solvent primers cannot be used

3. Suitable substrates

  • New and existing concrete (minimum 28 days old, moisture content below 5%)
  • Cementitious screeds, including highly absorbent substrates
  • Sound existing epoxy flooring
  • Asphalt
  • Mechanically prepared metal

6. Technical data

Surface preparation Substrate must be sound, clean and free of oil, grease, laitance, loose material and bond-inhibiting contaminants. Prepare concrete mechanically (captive shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding); remove weak concrete, open blowholes and voids, and reinstate imperfections with a suitable Rayson repair product. Vacuum all dust. New concrete should be at least 28 days old.
Mixing / dilution Two pre-weighed parts, mix ratio 4:1 (A:B) by weight; mix mechanically for at least 2–3 minutes; pot life up to 30 minutes at 30 °C
Application method Roller, Brush, Airless spray
Coverage 6–8 m² per kg per coat, varying with substrate condition and porosity
Application conditions Minimum substrate temperature 5 °C; substrate moisture content max 5%; minimum mixing temperature +10 °C; cure between +10 °C and +35 °C; prepared substrate pull-off strength above 1.5 N/mm².
Drying & curing Final cure 7 days
Recoat interval Overcoat within the system recoat window once the primer is touch dry; timings temperature-dependent.
Film / thickness Applied as a penetrating primer coat; consumption governs film — see coverage.

Storage Minimum 12 months at 5–35 °C in unopened original packaging; protect from direct sunlight.

8. Recommended system

Standard primed floor system

  1. Mechanically prepare and vacuum the substrate
  2. Prime with Rayson PrimeBond E25
  3. Apply the specified Rayson body coat or finish

Absorbent-substrate system

  1. Mechanically prepare porous concrete or screed
  2. Prime with Rayson PrimeBond E25 to seal and bind the surface
  3. Overcoat with the specified Rayson floor system

Two-component product. Wear gloves, eye protection and suitable respiratory protection where ventilation is limited. Avoid skin and eye contact. Keep out of reach of children. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (in preparation) before use.
