Rayson PatchBond · Repair mortars & compounds
Rayson PatchBond TX80 is a two-component, solvent-free thixotropic epoxy adhesive and repair compound with exceptional sag resistance that bonds and fills on vertical, overhead and even mat-damp concrete surfaces.
PatchBond TX80 is the compound for the repairs gravity makes difficult. Its thixotropic body holds at 13–15 mm on vertical surfaces without sagging, so coving, joint arrises, overhead patches and bonded fixings can be built in place rather than formed against shutters.
Standalone coating.
Figure 1 — Typical system build-up (top to bottom). Layer thicknesses are system-dependent; confirm the specification for your project.
| Surface preparation | Substrate must be dry or mat-damp (no standing water), sound, clean and free of oil, grease, laitance and loose material. Prepare concrete mechanically, open blowholes and voids, and vacuum all dust. Brush the compound well into the substrate. |
|---|---|
| Mixing / dilution | Two pre-weighed parts, mix ratio 2:1 (A:B) by weight; mix with a low-speed drill and paddle for at least 3–5 minutes, avoiding aeration; pot life up to 30 minutes at 28 °C |
| Application method | Spatula, Trowel or notched trowel, Gloved hand application |
| Coverage | Approximately up to 1.90 kg/m² per mm of thickness (theoretical, subject to conditions and porosity) |
| Application conditions | Minimum substrate temperature 10 °C; minimum mixing temperature +10 °C; cure between +10 °C and +30 °C; substrate dry or mat-damp with no standing water. |
| Drying & curing | Available from the Rayson technical team on request. |
| Recoat interval | Available from the Rayson technical team on request. |
| Film / thickness | Applied to the required thickness for the repair or bonding task. |
| Pack sizes | Part A 4 or 8 kg / Part B 2 or 4 kg per set |
| Storage | Minimum 12 months at 5–30 °C in unopened original packaging; protect from direct sunlight. |
| Shelf life | Approximately 12 months unopened; sunlight exposure reduces shelf life. |
