Screeds prepared properly, so the coating holds

Cement screeds are weaker and more porous than structural concrete, so they need thorough priming before coating. Rayson primer and coating systems seal, strengthen and finish screeded floors in corridors, back-of-house and plant areas.

  • Soft, friable screed surfaces with low cohesive strength
  • High porosity causing coating starvation and pinholes
  • Cracking from drying shrinkage
  • Moisture retained deep in thick screeds

  1. Test screed soundness and adhesion before system selection
  2. Prime with low-viscosity epoxy to penetrate and bind the surface
  3. Allow primer to seal porosity; apply a second primer coat on very porous screeds
